Typhoon / Rainstorm / Lightning Warning
Typhoon Signal No. 1 & 3 / Rainstorm Warning (Amber / Red / Black)
All golf courses will operate as normal. Penalty will apply in case of no show or late cancellation.
Typhoon Signal No. 8
All golf courses and the clubhouse will close and all pre-booked starting times for the whole day will be automatically cancelled.
Lightning
When the Club is alerted to an electrical storm being within five (5) kilometers, a lightning alert will be issued. This will involve one 15-second blast from the sirens placed around the courses. When this occurs, all golfers must immediately stop play and seek shelter at the halfway houses or one of the shelters on the courses. If this is not possible, golfers are advised to avoid high ground.
Once the storm and lightning has passed, three 5-second blasts on the sirens will be made to indicate this and that normal play can resume.
Refund Policy for Course Closure due to Lightning or Inclement Weather
The management reserves the right at any time to order the closure of the courses due to lightning or inclement weather and/or abnormal course conditions, which might cause danger to players on the course(s). Players will be informed by Player Assistants and all golfers must leave the courses as no further play will be permitted. If this happens green fees will be refunded as follows:

Refund of green fees must be claimed in person at reception during office hours on the day of play. Players who left the course prior to the announcement of course closure will not be eligible for any refund.
Closure and Re-opening of the Golf Course(s)
All golfers who are delayed as a result of the first tee closure will lose their tee time, and they are required to re-book a starting tee time on a first come first served basis.
Should the courses close due to inclement weather, players will be notified by push notification via the Club’s mobile app, which can be downloaded via the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. Please search ‘Hong Kong Golf Club’.
Once the storm and lightning has passed three 5-second blasts on the sirens will be made to indicate this and that normal play can resume.
